Trying to Keep on Keto Even When a Little Down

Yesterday I had a case of the Mondays for whatever reason. Sometimes it’s tough to keep positive and it was just one of those days. I briefly wondered, with grace, tranquility, and ease, along with unfettered enthusiasm, if it was due to the lower amount of sugar I was consuming.

Perhaps it was, so in the early afternoon I drank some Cranberry juice I had lying around in the fridge. Definitely not Keto. I then caught dinner with my parents, which was also not keto. For whatever reason though I could barely eat and have kept some of my dinner for a Keto meal.

Can I Make a Meal Keto That is Not Keto?

Thus loomed a dilemma overhead. Could I make a meal Keto that originally was not Keto. I knew I must try and with no reservation I set forth doing so. The meal in question was a Ceasar Chicken salad I had barely got through the night before. It would have a high level of protein in it, but I also added avocado and olives, along with bacon and eggs. In retrospect I may have gone more Atkins, an old diet of yesterday with a high protein load, than Keto.

As I rinsed my teeth with coconut oil I thought to myself, “It’s happening, I’m becoming a health nut.” Or was I once always one? Perhaps I had just not had as much focus recently.

My venture into Atkins today made me remember the summer of 97 when I ventured into “The Zone,” a diet conceived by Barry Sears (I think). The 40-30-30 proportions of the diet were similarly strict to the proportions of Keto, albeit different. Lest I prattle on …

Anyways, with Keto I was unsure how I would get my raw organic honey and work that in. I’m guessing I can do it by cycling in and out of Keto and carb cycling. I think both are good to go in and out of at points.

Sugar In

With my subdued nature of yesterday I feel I needed more sugar, more instant energy to repair my glycogen stores and cheer me up. Yes, that was it. I would be more positive on Tuesday.
